The Best and Worst Aspects pages include important survey results that do not fit a Benchmark factor scale. The survey asks faculty to identify, from a list of common characteristics of the academic workplace, the two best and two worst aspects of working at your institution. The most frequently mentioned "best" and "worst" aspects are highlighted alongside your peers’ results and the cohort’s.

Improving Workplace

We conclude this COACHE survey by asking, "What's the one thing your institution could do to improve the workplace for faculty?" This question produces a rich source of qualitative data. Our team of researchers has redacted all comments for identifying information and coded each comment according to themes of the faculty experience. You can filter results according to these codes.
